A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to nonexistent addresses under the same domain. For instance, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can receive emails from pals or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be redirected to a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting
In case you have a shared web hosting with us and you’d like to enable the catch-all functionality for a certain e-mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it will take literally only one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can choose one email address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all messages sent to misspelled email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button for a second time will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You will be able to configure a catch-all address with no more than a click if you have a semi-dedicated server with our company and your email messages are handled by our cloud platform. All the mailboxes that you set up with any domain hosted in the semi-dedicated hosting account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section. Each of them will have a small-size "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to enable this functionality will be to click that icon. In the same fashion you’ll be able to remove the feature, in case you do not need it anymore. Our system will notify you if you are trying to enable a 2nd catch-all email address for a given domain name or if there’s activated email forwarding, but it’ll never change or deactivate anything automatically or without your permission.
