No Data Corruption & Data Integrity
Find out what ‘No Data Corruption & Data Integrity’ implies for the data as part of your website hosting account.
Data corruption is the unintentional change of a file or the loss of information that usually occurs during reading or writing. The reason may be hardware or software malfunction, and for that reason, a file may become partially or entirely corrupted, so it will no longer work properly because its bits shall be scrambled or missing. An image file, for example, will no longer show an authentic image, but a random combination of colors, an archive will be impossible to unpack since its content will be unreadable, etc. In case this kind of a problem occurs and it's not noticed by the system or by an administrator, the data will get corrupted silently and in case this happens on a drive which is part of a RAID array where the data is synchronized between various drives, the corrupted file shall be duplicated on all the other drives and the harm will become permanent. A large number of frequently used file systems either do not have real-time checks or don't have high quality ones which can detect a problem before the damage is done, so silent data corruption is a very common problem on web hosting servers where large amounts of info are stored.

No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Shared Web Hosting
The integrity of the data which you upload to your new
shared web hosting account shall be ensured by the ZFS file system that we use on our cloud platform. The majority of hosting suppliers, including our company, use multiple HDDs to store content and because the drives work in a RAID, exactly the same info is synchronized between the drives at all times. In case a file on a drive gets damaged for some reason, however, it is more than likely that it will be duplicated on the other drives as other file systems don't include special checks for this. In contrast to them, ZFS employs a digital fingerprint, or a checksum, for each file. If a file gets corrupted, its checksum will not match what ZFS has as a record for it, therefore the damaged copy shall be substituted with a good one from another hard drive. Since this happens instantly, there's no possibility for any of your files to ever get damaged.

No Data Corruption & Data Integrity in Semi-dedicated Servers
Your
semi-dedicated server account will be resistant to silent data corruption because all of our storage servers use the innovative ZFS file system. What makes the aforementioned unique is that it uses checksums, or digital identifiers, so as to verify the integrity of each file. When you upload content to your account, it'll be saved on several redundant drives employed in a RAID i.e. the files will be the same across all drives. All the copies of a given file will feature the same checksum on all hard disks and ZFS will compare the checksums of the duplicates right away, so if it discovers a mismatch, that would indicate that one of the copies is corrupted, it will replace that file with a healthy copy from one of the other drives. Even if there's an unexpected power loss, the data on the servers won't get corrupted and there won't be any need for a time-consuming system check which other file systems perform after some failure, prolonging the time needed for the server to return online. ZFS is the only file system which can really protect your content from silent data corruption.
