In case you host multiple websites in the very same account and one of them gets hacked, it's very likely that all of them will be hacked afterwards. There're different reasons why this may happen, the two most popular are: using really weak passwords or using out-of-date scripts with widely known vulnerabilities. This way, a single compromised website can do lots of damage to all of your websites, since gaining access to a single script often allows hackers to access the whole hosting account. This is the reason why we've introduced a new security option called JailHost. Once enabled, this feature will literally lock a website in its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, all the other sites in the account will remain hidden. Thus they'll be protected from further intrusion. The JailHost option doesn't imply that you should not keep your Internet sites up to date, but it'll significantly reduce the damage.
JailHost in Shared Web Hosting
If you host your Internet sites inside a shared web hosting account from our firm, you'll be able to protect them using the JailHost feature with just a couple of mouse clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. This feature is provided with all packages and can be activated for any folder since the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have individual folders, so that files for various websites do not get mixed up as it regularly happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default because you may use scripts that require access to folders outside the main website folder and this option could interfere with their proper functioning, but protecting all of the other folders is really easy. In case a secured Internet site gets hacked for some reason, we can recover it promptly as we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to search the available backups from Hepsia.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers
All our semi-dedicated server packages come with JailHost provided by default. This feature is not activated automatically when you add a domain since you may want to use some script that accesses different folders in the account, but you will be able to activate it with ease via your Hepsia Control Panel and protect your other websites with just a couple of clicks. Hepsia is much better to use if you have multiple websites since it keeps them in individual folders and doesn't keep the files for several sites in the same folder like it often happens with other Control Panels. This allows us to offer you JailHost as all the folders can be separated from one another. In case that any of your Internet sites is hacked, we can quickly restore it because of the multiple daily backups which we'll keep and in the mean time the attacker will not be able to do further damage since the access to your other Internet sites will be blocked.
